What is a Peer Specialist?
As a Peer Specialist, you'll meet with people one-on-one—in their home or out in the community—and provide essential support as they navigate their mental health recovery.
Give everyday emotional support and feedback
Help them build connections in the community
Help them set goals and action plans for recovery
Nurture and encourage their strengths
Teach them coping strategies and techniques
Be there for them in emergencies
Setting achievable health goals (physical, emotional, and mental)
Accompany them to medical appointments
