NEW Recovery Blog!

Recovery: Defined, recovery is a return to a normal state of health, mind, or strength. It is also defined as the action or process of regaining possession or control of something stolen or lost.

Recovery: Experienced, recovery is the overcoming of something that has hurt, something that has held you back, something that has tied you down. It is also experienced through hard work, intentional decisions, and inner strength that you often didn’t know you had.

Recovery: Lived, recovery is a sense of pride for the person you are despite what you have gone through. Lived, recovery is the first step out of bed in the morning, the last hopeful thought before falling asleep, and every moment of peace in between.

We are all in recovery of something and we are all navigating this journey together. We hope that this space can be a place where you find encouragement, inspiration, and even practical tips from others who are tiptoeing through this thing we call life, one step at a time.

Our blog contributors work in the field of mental health and substance use recovery. Many of them use their own experience of recovery to guide, mentor, and support others as Certified Peer Specialists. It is our hope that their own stories, experiences, and guidance can help not only those we serve through peer support, but those in need of a pick-me-up, and inspiration, and a real-life example that recovery is possible!
