GET CONNECTED
The first conversation
Most people find us through a referral from their therapist, case manager, or doctor. But you can also reach out directly here or by calling us at (888) 733-7781. We'll gather some basic information and verify your Medicaid coverage.

BUILD YOUR PLAN
Your goals, your pace
Together, we’ll create an Individualized Service Plan built around what matters to you. This is your roadmap—built around your goals, your priorities, and your pace.
No goal is too small. If getting out of bed feels like a mountain right now, that's a valid place to start. If you're ready to pursue a job or go back to school, we're here for that too.

MEET YOUR PEER SPECIALIST
Someone who gets it
Your Certified Peer Specialist isn't a therapist or case manager. They're someone who's faced the pain of mental illness, found a path to stability, and completed professional training to turn that experience into real expertise. It's a combination you won't find anywhere else: someone who truly understands, backed by the skills to put that understanding to work.
The first few meetings are about building trust and getting to know each other. Your CPS will listen to your story, learn about your current situation, and start to understand what matters most to you.

ONGOING SUPPORT
Wherever you are
Your peer specialist will meet with you regularly, wherever works best for you. That might be in your home, out in the community, or via telehealth if that's more comfortable. We come to you: Your sessions can range from a few hours a week to up to four hours daily, depending on what you need.
Sessions are goal-oriented. This isn't just hanging out or having someone to talk to (though connection is a big part of it). Your CPS will walk alongside you as you work toward your goals—practicing skills, problem-solving barriers, celebrating wins, and staying the course through setbacks.
What a typical session might look like:
Reviewing progress on your goals and adjusting as needed
Practicing a phone call to schedule an appointment
Researching community resources together
Role-playing a conversation you're nervous about
Working on budgeting, time management, or organization
Processing a difficult situation and developing coping strategies
Simply being present during a hard day

GROW TOWARD INDEPENDENCE
One step at a time
Our goal isn't to be in your life forever. It's to walk alongside you until you feel strong enough to stand on your own. As you make progress, we'll adjust your service plan together. Maybe you'll need less frequent visits. Maybe you'll tackle bigger goals. Some people eventually graduate from services entirely—and when that happens, we celebrate it.
But we also understand that recovery isn't linear. If you hit a rough patch, we're still here. We don't give up on people.
does it cost anything?
Peer support services through Peerstar are fully funded by Medicaid. If you have Medical Assistance (MA) coverage in Pennsylvania and a qualifying mental health diagnosis, there's nothing to pay.
